"My wife and I would like to thank ‘Colourstone Paving Ltd’ for completing our project, within the time we had prescribed. Ours, was a multi-tasking project requiring the following phased inputs:
1) Trimming down a 5-metre high Leylandii hedge to 4 metres.
2) Excavating the Driveway, Front Garden, Patio and Rear Garden in readiness for tarmacking and paving work, that was to follow. In addition, this work required the removal of a deep-rooted tree-stump in the front garden.
3) Joinery repairs to the existing outer front door frame, prior to laying a new front door step.
4) Patterned Concrete Paving of the Front Garden, Patio and Rear Garden in two shades and three different patterns.
5) Fresh tarmacking of the Driveway, in a two-colour mix (Black + Red).
6) Order and replace the old existing 15-metre length wooden fence, with a low maintenance ‘Eco-Fence’, made of durable plastic, also known as ‘Composite Fencing’.
As you know, from the outset, I was only interested in engaging a contractor, capable of handling the project in its totality. I thought I will let you now know, that prior to awarding you the contract, I had contacted 12 service providers, either advertising or promoting themselves as ‘Driveways /Landscapes/Paving Specialists’ with a detailed 22-point specification and a line drawing outlining our particular requirements. Only four of these were able to provide a firm quotation, of which ‘Colourstone Paving Ltd’ was one. It was your sheer mild-mannered persistence to win the contract, that won the day for you.
Colourstone, having done a lot of work in and around Greasby in the last 2-years or so, provided me with some measure of your capabilities and standards, to include you in my list for quotations. With the completion of our work, you have clearly demonstrated to us, your capability of undertaking contracts requiring multiple tasks and inputs. Moreover, I was impressed with your business acumen to undertake totally new non-standard demands on your services, as you demonstrated with the Eco-Fencing and the joinery work contents. This is indeed a credit-worthy characteristic from my perspective. You are prepared to fulfil a customer’s unusual requirements, in the interest of acquiring fresh business.
An issue, my wife and I would like to draw to your attention, which we feel should help enhance your standard of service, is granting more closer attention to the finer details of your finished work: such as cleaning of overspills and smudges of concrete over drains and steps, glaring holes and gaps in the pointing of brickwork, filling of gaping crevices after the concrete paving, tidying up excess loose tarmac grit in and around drains and the driveway itself, and a host of similar minor observations that reflect on the standard of workmanship. We believe you have the capabilities in your young team to exercise such discipline that engenders pride in your work.
